Their absolutely wonderful! I love bitless bridles! From what I remember it applies more pressure to the nose than the poll. And you have to remember this, the more you pull, the more pressure is applied. It is an absolute must for horses that don't like bits. I would look at Dr. Cooks bitless. I've used these, and a western version. These are so nice, they give control, but don't hurt the horse. All you have to figure out, is how much pressure your mare can stand.
