I would also advise this. I was in the same position as you are right now. I took lessons and worked at the barn to have extra rides. I am almost 18, and now I am getting paid to teach lessons and am riding multiple times a week. As nice as it would have been to own my own horse, there are so many more random things that need to be paid for besides board, and they really add up.
