The day started out with, a little luck from Mother Nature, and what Director Kennedy put as “nothing but spectacular field conditions”.
Some notable things that happened, Team Will and Team Jared started the tourney off with a well fought battle. Tourney MVP Mickey M. had an impressive 1.000 batting avg and pitched two gems.
We all saw a “coming out of retirement” team effort from Team Paul. With fans screaming such thoughts of encouragement as “You better not suck because my name is on the back of your jersey, too”! And Team Will saw a grand slam hit by Eric Powell and Pitcher Jason Rompola may have had a few more strikeouts, if not for blown umpire calls by Tournament Director Kennedy.
Team Phil fought hard with a newcomer on the bump in team captain Phil Kelly. Does this spell a new position in the coming weeks for Charlie’s Pizza? Only time will tell.
In the end, Team Jared was able to squeak out a tourney win. But the real winner was the Charlie’s Pizza/Boathouse team who appreciates everyone’s participation because it means 1 more team in the Norristown A division.
Thanks again everyone!
