We can't have it the Weekend of April 1-2, because of Sonny's Senior Feast/Festival/Funday. So, the best thing to do so teams/players from Norristown can go honor Shane by playing in his tournament (and I know many do), is:
The week before the Senior Fest is March 25-26, and I know that the Millennium Early Bird in Delaware County is that weekend. I know we have guys that go to that and play.
April 15-16, only Easter Sunday is the 16th. Unless we have a ONE Day event that Saturday.
April 22-23, But, The only thing with the 22-23rd weekend is that York has its Big Inferno Sports/Razorback Tournament that weekend and I know a lot of you go play in that one.
April 29-30, but, I think Heels usually runs his Women's Early Bird that weekend.
And the following week, May 6-7 is the Annual Amish Open in Gap.
HEELS, what is the best thing to do ..... Hello.
My Idea, sounds stupid is to have just a One Day thing the Saturday (April 15th) before Easter Sunday and Use some old 44-375 balls or even 47/525 balls (They would be mostly all white balls). Use the Women's field if they don't mind and have One Day Wooden Bat Unlimited Home Run tournament of some kind. The last time, we had a wooden bat tournament, everybody did have a lot of fun.
I will supply the balls, Heels has some of his old wooden sticks from when he played with Tommy Lasorda in the Norristown Little League in the 1890s, those bats ought to be petrified wood by now, like stone. The Entrance fee shouldn't be more then $100. All we need are some umps to work for $25 a game. Depending on how many teams, could be double elim or even pool play and if time allows, a Home Run Derby in between or afterwards. Hey, its something different .... and that way, we wouldn't be stepping on the feet of the other Tournaments already scheduled, especially Shane's. Any money raised would obviously pay the umps first and the rest would either go to the winning team, into the field fund or just have a feast there at the field with our favorite beverages and the 18 fishes us Catholics eat. Wait thats before Christmas, oops. nevermind. Anyway. Heels, your call. .... OR......
You can defend your Norristown Cock Fighting Championship against any and all opponents. Remind you that Heath is still ranked #1 Contender. The Temperature must be above freezing, because if Sully's Silver Snake gets Frostbite, he won't be able to drive home. .. just throwing ideas out there ... Thanks, Steve
FYI, here are two of the bigger tournaments in the State.
May 27-29; Coke Classic at Lewisburg
July 7-9; Yuengling at Williamsport
