Congrats to Dave, Dennis, Albert, Will, Scott and the rest of the team as they put on a defensive show this past weekend at the E states in York. They gave up 19 runs in the 6 games going undefeated and ran out of gas as the Razorbacks from York came back to beat them twice in the championship. What a good bunch of guys they have. Played their hearts out all weekend. Their class and sportsmanship made Norristown league proud. SS Ryan Dolga is the real deal, incredible young player, chip off the old block as dad, Jim Dolga was also a tremendous player - played for some great teams back in the 90s. People in the stadium were calling them the cardiac kids. They won most of their games by one run (3-2, 6-5, etc). Played flawless defense. I wish you guys won, you deserved it, you made many fans and gained the respect of many players and teams - you guys should be proud
The Outlaws finished 5th after receiving a tough draw. Steve Maniscalco, pleasure meeting you. Was very impressed with you and your team. The Pottstown league made a great showing for themselves and proved they are one of the most competitive leagues around. Accumetrics, Raiders, Turtles and tIme to Serve all won at least 2-3 games (I think). KGB and the Lost Boys also played tough. Gibbons Legal had a tough draw going 1-2 and losing to a real strong STUD team from Reading and Jack Cassidys of the Millennium League. Johnny B's (Bump Dinella and crew) finished 4th, Bump hit missiles all day. JD McGillicuddys (Gerbs, Bobby DiNella) won a couple games. Jack Cassidys crushed the ball, Kevin Brown was his usual hitting machine. Matt Jenkins and the Tailgaters win 3 games. Larry McFadden, Bobby Quinn, Frankie Smith also looked good. Maggies (Modi and crew) also had a tough draw.
It was nice to see a lot of people I have not seen in many years. All teams remember, you guys are also invited to come back in late August in Drifton to play in the Class-E Fall states. -
I'm still very proud and impressed of the Swedeland guys on the performance they had. - steve
