some of my fondest memories over the years in softball have been the players interactions with the umps and vice versa.Although frustarting at the time they are part of the relationships in softball..imperfect people playing (and umpiring) an imperfect game ,mistakes are part of it.I remember some years back a younger Jimmy Meyers tossed me from a game beacause I brought a cigarette to the mound when I was pitching.....smitty asked me last night if I have ever heard anything like that unsportsmanlike conduct call and there is my answer smitty.
