King of useless information
as usual, we start at a number, go up and then down, 3 teams still want to play.
Here is the deal - $200 entrance Fee, 3 teams play round robin (2 games each), then depending on what teams want, have a double elimination or a single elimination after the pool play, either way is Ok by me. here is the info for the Double Elim
Round Robin Times/Schedule (coin flip determines home team)
8:00: 1 vs 2 - (Norristown B/C Stars vs Legion of Boom)
9:00: 2 vs 3 - (Legion of Boom vs Worcester HVAC)
10:00: 1 vs 3 - (Norristown B/C Stars vs Worcester HVAC)
Double Elimination Schedule (higher seed home team throughout)
Game-1: 11:00: #2 seed vs #3 seed
Game-2: 12:00: #1 seed vs game-1 winner
Game-3: 1:00: game-1 loser vs game-2 loser (loser eliminated)
Game-4: 2:00: game-2 winner vs game-3 winner (Championship)
Game-5: 3:00 (If game)
if all goes well, we should be out of there by 4:00.
Here are the rules.
1) All ASA rules apply except for the following.
2) The ASA Stealing Rule will NOT be used in this tournament.
3) You may use one (1) Courtesy Runner per inning (the courtesy runner must be the last recorded out in the lineup). Plus anybody hurt or sick may have a runner.
4) You have the option to Bat everybody on your team in the lineup. All players above the usual 10 players will be considered Extra Hitters or EH’s.
5) A Mat will be used for balls & strikes. (1-1 count, no extra foul)
6) To avoid forfeits, you may start a game with 8 players.
7) HR rule is 4 HRs per game with a 1-up rule in effect, any HRs in excess is an out. (You do not have to run the bases, as soon as HR is hit, the hitter and the runner leave field)
8) Mercy rule-20-run rule after 3-innings, 12-runs after 4-innings and 10-runs after 5-innings
9) Each team must supply, hit & chase their own Ball (52 COR /275 lbs Compression). There will be balls on sale. (See Sully Gelet)
10) We will use the 1.20 bpf Bats in this event, All USSSA, ASA, etc (NO senior bats)
11) If the pool play records don't decide the seedings, The Tie-Breakers for this tournament will be: 1) Fewest runs allowed; 2) Most runs scored; 3) Run Differential; 4) Coin Flip
12) All games will have a 50-minute time limit, an official will let you know when 50 minutes is up and then you complete the remainder of that inning to end the game.
13) NO PROFANITY, (No warnings either)
14) Please clean up your trash. Please do not drink ‘soda’ out of cans, use plastic cups.
15) Report scores at the end of the game to the tournament official.
16) Report to your game at the scheduled time, NO EXCEPTIONS.
17) The winning team manager and/or tournament director will select the MVP.
