The Dice Man says eeeewwwwwwww
In my opinion Norristown Softball is back. The XRock version of the 52-275 is excellent and clearly safer. This ball performs more like a traditional ball that we have become accustomed to over the last decade. Norristown has always been the best league around that has attracted the best players in the area. I think we lost that this year with the ball we were using as it was just radically different and I think many agree that Norristown softball was different. The intensity and the fun were not there. All I have heard over the last three weeks from players all across the area was how “fun” it was to play in Marcus Hook due to the bats and balls. Obviously infielders and pitchers were a bit scared due to the imminent danger of 140mph liners, but still most say it was much more fun. Players play this game for fun and the players make the league.
I think if we stay with the XRock version of this ball and the Utrip bats the game in Norristown will be great. Last night our pitcher got nailed in the shin with a line drive from a very good hitter and today he is not even bruised. The games were great last night, line drives were hit hard, and many a HR was hit. Great defensive plays were made in three very intense games.
Flush hard, it's a long way to the Jersey Beaches
