Manager of the Year League Award - Bill Gulotta, Steppy's/TNT/Worcester Heating
-Built a team from scratch and built it to win a state title and a league title. They won the "C" states and his team had the most wins in the entire league. He somehow blended a combination of 2-3 different teams together and kept 15 starters happy on a weekly basis ... Others receiving recognition were Brian 'G' Giamarco of D&D/Spectrum, Chris Carter of Depaul, John Cresswell of Maennerchor, the O'Hara/Balmer combo of Peppers and also Jared Blair of CarVision.
Sportsmanship of the Year League Award - Chris Carter, Depaul Brothers
So very long overdue to win this award. He is one of the most likable players in this league's history. He is also a powerful HR hitter and a student of the game studying every players at batas he is also the team manager. Add all this to the fact that he also managed the Women's Lady Depauls team to the Class-E State Championship and also the East/West Combo Championship and it doesn't end there, he managed the Depauls Coed team to the Class-D State Championship leading the way going 17-18 on the day. When at the field, just look fo rthe action and you'll see the him along with the Depaul contingent either cooking on the grill or handing out food & beverages to anyone that stops by. A genuine class act ... Others receiving recognition were Jared Blair of CarVision, Donny Douglass of Maennerchor, Tom Pagel of Steppy's, AJ Neve of Norristown Rec, Jay Rissell of Execupharm, Mike Borkowski of Super-Fit and Dick Moody of T-Bones.
Rookie of the Year League Award - Gerry DiNolfi, Maennerchor/Bauman-Pitts/Jamison's
This award isn't given out on a regular basis, but then again, a kid like this doesn't enter the league on a regular basis either. He arrived late last year and then had an incredible year. When you see him play, you realize he is a special player. And don't let the last name fool you either ... his dad Gerry was a star baseball player for the semi-pro Norristown A's, his Uncle Alex is in the Perkiomen Valley League Baseball Hall of Fame. His Uncle Chuck was one of this league's all time greats. And his cousin Charlie DiNolfi was considered to be the greatest softball player of his generation back in the 70's and 80's. With a blood line like that, how can Gerry DiNolfi fail. He's off to a good start.
Congrats to all the winners and anybody else that was mentioned.
