hi folks, Im a first year student in an engineering college . As I was about to stay in the college hostel , I was a bit nervous about the ragging that'll take place over there. But contrary to my apprehension all that my seniors did was taking an introduction ,asking us to sing a few songs and cracked a few jokes to remove our nervousness. We all told home that our seniors are very good. And good they were, they helped us with everything that would be in need of us. Frankly speaking I and most of my batchmates enjoyed the introduction section that used to go on between the seniors and us. Unfortunately one (or maybe more) of our batchmates complained to the principal that he/they is/are being ragged badly! in protest we decided to stop speaking to all those whome we suspected. 1 month and some complain goes to the chancellor of the university so serious in its content that a few seniors are suspended , have human rights activists after them and are unsure of there engineering career . The authorities speak of giving the proof only in front of the police!! Same has been said to a few of our batchmates who spoke in favour of our seniors. They have been given memos! we all know that our seniors are good people, and the complaints are false. There has been no inquiry whatsoever to have an insight into the matter. Is this not harrassment? It is unanimously decided that ragging is bad ony when it hurts the syche of students. I am sure I have convinced u all that our ragging was constructive not destructive.
