Firstly, Ragging is a global Phenomenon and Rampant in public schools in Britain which is also prevalent in Public schools in India..(check the defination of Public schools ..its not for the general public ...ist schools with spartan system of education)...I have studied in one such school and believe it cannot be decided its bad or good...for any age..some take it some..don't...But generally ..it does make kids tougher and lesser of a whimperer...
I was ragged almost daily from the age of 12 when i was at my military public school...it did teach me camaaderie but it also leaves a bad taste in my mouth...But after growing out of those years it all seems trivial....and i think i learnt a lot...Its sad that u guys are cribbing about college life..when u shoudl be menatlly more touch and face the opposite sex with confidence...its too bad people commit suicides and seniors go overboard...its just the right balance which could be regulated with a alw to define what forms of ragging should be banned...and schools should just make students aware...I shoudl tell you that for a few years after such a law comes..ragging will completely stop...buyt beyond it it will exist in nominal forms...which is what is required...
I am sure in the absence of ragging...We will whave juniors abusing and illtreating seniors and fights and deaths could occur due to violence...
