I have the same exact probelm in my home office. I've been "sick" 3 times in the past 3 months—mostly head colds. I'm not sure what to do.

: If someone could provide me with any
: information?
:
: My office is located on the 1st floor of a 7
: story bldg. We've been experiencing water
: linking from the outside and seeping into
: our offices, etc. The building management
: tried to seal the areas but it continues to
: be a problem. Today, one of my colleagues
: discovered "red slime/mold, etc.
: growing under that thick plastic mat you
: place under your chair so that the carpet
: doesn't get messed up and the chair rolls
: easier. To our amazement, I had the same
: thing and 3 others (total of 5 of us-we are
: next to the glass wall of the building that
: leaks). All of us have "noticed"
: that our plastic mats were turning red but
: we just thought it was the plastic getting
: discolored from age??? We started recalling
: when we first "noticed" the
: redness and its been about 8 mo.-year. It
: is obviously a "living thing", it
: is red, pink or beet red. It is moist,
: slimey and smelly.
:
: I am concerned that this is red mold. Does
: this sound like red mold? Please help.
: I've notified by company, management and
: they are "sort-of-matter-of-fact"
: about it. I read up on Legionella and
: Legionnaires Disease. I cannot find
: anything about it "growing" like
: this? The conditions are great in the
: office: moisture, heat, the plastic, etc.
: Or maybe we have red algae??? Anything you
: can provide would be helpful. I need to
: mentioned that we have been sick and feeling
: sick (feverish, cough, muscle pain,
: headache, migraines, fatigue) or sometime
: but ,again, thought it was just
: "stress." I will be contacting
: our Department of Health as well. My email
: is rokero@att.net
: Ph (808)282-9045.
:
: Thank you.
