Hi It's so good to actually hear from someone else who is out there. My fiancee is the one who saved my life. Had he not insisted on calling the ambulance I think it would have been over. I had been dilerious [out of my head] for eight days. I do suffer from memory loss and confusion. I'm back at work but not sure I really belong there. I just wanted to get back to the normal things in life. Thanks for responding. The people on this site should really help me, Dorothy
: Hi Dorothy. Hair loss was one of the reasons
: why my Doc ran a thyroid test. Mine started
: to fall out 3 months after catching LD.
: Thyroid replacement worked and my hair is
: pretty well back to normal - coarse and
: thick!! Get your Doc to check your thyroid
: levels.
: Other problems I've had include increased
: deafness which "expert" has put
: down to LD toxins and incapacitating back
: pain that "expert" thinks may have
: been due to immobility during and after LD.
: Most Docs seem to see LD as a respiratory
: problem only and don't seem to connect other
: post LD health problems to LD.
: Thank goodness I don't suffer confusion
: (debatable says my husband) or increased
: memory loss. Great site Great people will
: spread the word to my fellow Coach tour
: sufferers.
: Regards Fel

: Hi. I caught LD in Sept 2002 while on a coach
: tour of Europe. 2 weeks hospital in Colmar
: France. 10 victims 9 survivors.
: Slow recovery since with tiredness hair loss
: back pain. Diagnosed as hypothyroid Mar 2003.
: Fine before disease but "expert"
: says "pre-existing condition"
: Anyone else had Thyroid problems?
: :help I'm out here alone with my hair falling
: out and trying after six monthes to get on
: with it.I found this sight by accident. Will
: this be just a bump in the road or permanent?
: I should just be happy to be alive, shouldn't
: I? But I have always been so damn
: independant and to ask someone to help me,
: well that hurts more than I ever thought it
: would. To see the dates on the message board
: leaves me to believe there are us out there
: then I ever thought there would be.
