well, i think it is time, i get another tatoo. this one shouldn't cost much as it will merely be a date, in time. 091804..
thats the day, my life changed.
don't have a lot of memory about that particular day,,or the days leading up to it. i remember walking first, walking into what i refer to as the quickie dr. am sure they're all over, they are small convenience care centers.
gave them my symptoms, and about 15 minutes later, the dr said, here's a script for some tylenol, if ya don't get any better in a few days,,,you might wanna go to the ER.
well,,,soon as i got outside, i tossed the script ( got tylenol at home,,no sense in buying anymore ) . for the next few days, i spent battling a temp of 107, and trying to deal with the most severe backache i have ever experienced in my life.
so,,,,finally friday came along, figured it was time i should go to the ER. now,,,,at about this point on,,,my memory is pretty faded, i recall being wheeled down a hallway thinking, this breeze i am feeling, feels so good on my face.
i breifly remember being placed in a hosp room, but from that point on,,,, it's a blank. now, this was as i said, friday. when i woke up, my two daughters were standing along side my bed, and it was 7 days later.
i couldn't lift, a mere cup of water, i trembled all over, tremors in my hands, and arms. i lost over 40 pounds, and had only scattered memories as to what had happened.
tried to walk,,,that was a misstake... couldn't even whipe my own azz. how humiliating.....
was informed by one of the 5,,,,dr's, that took some interest in me, that i had contacted legionaire's disease. my repsonse was,,,HUH !!!! so, myself, and the dr's began our learing process of this silent killer,,, as i refer to it. due to it's very similar symptoms of a severe cold. thats all i thought i had.
well, the dr started his lil speal, by telling me, had i waited one more day, to come in,,,,i'd of died. that, plus seeing my daughters crying,,,,didn't make me a very nice patient....no patient of the year award for me...
so,,after 3 more days, of non-stop attempts at walking, isometrics, and lots of fruit, i conviced the dr,,,it was time to go home. haaaaaaaa,,,,, should of stayed at least another week.
once i get home,,,,,went to write out my bills,,,,,didn't know how to sign my dam name. forgot it all..... knew what i wanted to write,,just couldn't do it....
would be sitting on the couch, get up,,,,fall down. fogot how to walk.
thinking i had to do something, go to do it,,and forget what i was going to do. so,,would go back to the couch,,,by the time i got there, remembered what it was, that i had forgotten,,,turn around, by the time i got to where i was before,,,bingo,,,,,forgot again.
lost over 40 lbs,,off work over 2 months,,, got laughed at, when i submitted a worker's comp claim.
was told by the county's health dept,,,NO investigation would be conducted due to my being the only "REPORTED" case. hmmmmmm,,,,wonder how many others, that died from respitory failure,,,,could of been as a result of ld???
cann't remember things, from as little as yesterday. have to keep busy,,or the tremors come back.
was sent to a pulmonary specialist, via worker's comp. now,,,,that was an experience. he informed me, he didn't have a clue, about ld. made me feel just wonderful.
after that,,the attorney i had, pretty much quit corresponding with me.
and my job,,,wellllllllll, the cooling towers are still there,,,,,nothing has changed.... and i sit here, wondering, could i get this again? supposedly not, but hey,,,,,the dr's have already informed me, they don't know much, if anything about it, so,,,,how do they know, i cann't get it again?
