(knocks on the door)
Shin: "Yes, who is it?"
(open the door)
Shin: "What, it's only Touma."
Touma: "It's not nice to say that! Shin, aren't we companions of Samurai Troopers?"
Shin: "Companions? Such a convenient vocabulary, isn't it? Well, anyway. Come in!'
Touma: "Yes, yes. I almost missed the train coming here as well! Pleaaase let me stay over, Suiko no Shin-sama ("sama", honorable form of 'san' [Mr.]"
Shin: "I don't mind to let you stay here, but there are no Classics or the likes in my place."
Touma: "Are you making a sarcastic remark?"
"Shin! Can I turn on the TV?"
Shin: "(from a distance) It's OK. But what do you want to watch?"
Touma: "It's about time for the News. Oh! This looks delicious!"
(News in background: "....and the result is that there are new problems left between the residents in the area. Let's expect the strategies of the Office of Connection in the future. The situation will be better....")
Shin: "I don't mind you watching the news, but.....(walking close) Aaa! Touma! Can't you stop opening the bottle of snacks without asking!"
Touma: "Why? (keeps eating) ...Is the coffee ready?"
(News in background: "The tour to Japan of the American rock artist Downribbu, who is popular among the young generation,is decided...")
Shin: "....You always come at the time you're convenient, but I have my own schedule as well!"
(News in background: "The rare triplets Simmoty which were resulted from the artificial fertilization has a presentation and has resulted of hot discussions. This experiment is succeed by Mr. Ooyama, a 19-year-old Animation school student who lives in Tokyo. Mr. Ooyama is afraid that this experiment will be used in a mistaken way...")
Touma: "For example? You're so reserved! Why don't you consult with me if there is a problem? Aren't we companions?"
Shin: "It might be a kind of trouble that is difficult to be understood by a genius like you, but ....for example, study?"
Touma: "Are you going to fail (your courses)?"
Shin: "You became so impudent!!"
Touma: "As much as you did."
Shin: "You!!!.....Oh! No! Coffee will boil! (sound of Running)"
Touma: "I won."
News Reporter 1: "...The fire continues to spread among the mountains. The Land's Self-Defence Team is continuing putting out the fire there. Here, let's hear from Mr. Oohashi, the reporter there again. Mr. Oohashi?"
Mr. Oohashi: "Yes, this is Oohashi. This fire started this afternoon, and it still didn't show any sign of stopping since the last time I've reported. Let me check the situation right now....The helicopter in the air has taken over the action of fire extinguishing from the ground a while ago, and it finally begins to show some changes. Based on the report just a moment before, there is no report of anyone getting injured at this point. The first phase of fire extinguishing will probably end at dawn. As for the reason of this fire, it is proposed that the thunder along with the lingering summer heat were probably the reason. However, why did such thing happen when the weather condition at the time shouldn't cause any thunder? In addition, why did the fire spread so fast when there was almost no wind? The details are still under investigation. This is the report from the Reporter Oohashi on site."
Reporter 1: "Mr. Oohashi, thank you very much."
"It sounds like that there are finally signs of fire getting extinguishing"
Reporter 2: "It is fortunate that no one has got hurt."
Reporter 1: "I truly agreed. The news of the mountain fire at the Miyagi Province will end here for the time being. We'd introduce new information during the TV programs when there is anything new comes in. And let's continue to..."
Shin: "Coffee is ready."
Touma: "Unusual thing happens"
Shin: "What news is it about?"
Touma: "There is a mountain fire caused by the thunder at Miyagi Province. However, the fire continued to spread even when there was no wind!"
Shin: "When there was no wind? It sounds strange, doesn't it? Which part of the Miyagi Province?"
Touma: "Pretty north, I believe"
Shin: "Miyagi Province...isn't it where Seiji's home is (Sendai is the capital city in the Miyagi Province)? Do you think everything is fine?"
Touma: "Yes, I think it is. Because Seiji's home is far away from the place."
Shin: "Miyagi Province...By the way, I read a folk tale about a stone which is so interesting that I did some research on it. The book says that the stone is in Miyagi Province as well."
Touma: "A stone?"
Shin: "It's closer to a legend than to a folk tale. A stone that a monster fox was sealed a long time ago, has been offered prayers there."
Touma: "Is that the story of 'the Fox of the Summer Field' (another famous folk tale about a fox)?"
Shin: "No. The times [of the stories] are very much apart."
Touma: "This kind of story is everywhere in the country. Foxes, raccoons, or devils/ghosts, curse or deceive human beings with incredible powers..."
Shin: " Pandemonium', appear and disappear unexpectedly'. Can you write it?' (note "Shin-shutsu-ki-botsu" are written in 4 Kanji, or Chinese characters. Literally, it means "appear and disappear unexpectedly". This is not a phrase that is not commonly used in everyday language, and hence, not all Japanese (especially people in junior high school, knows how to write them in Kanji)
Touma: "Of course. But, the endings are always that they are sealed by human beings. It's no help. Do they hate human beings so much?"
Shin: "there is a theory that says devils/ghosts are stories that based on the elaboration of stories of bad people. 'In the old times, these kinds of stories are told to children as a kind of merits and demerits of human beings', such as 'You will be as ugly as they are if you do something bad.' or You'll be possessed by a monster if you don't hold your own will firmly.' Most stories are about someone being attacked by monsters now."
Touma: "Transform to a monster? It's true that you don't want to become a devil/ghost."
Shin: "It is said that it helps cutting down crimes. Devils/ghosts are the appearances of human beings at the ending.' "
Touma: "....Such a bloody conversation. Gives up of being a human being, and becomes a monster? Hey, hey, let's change to something cheerful!"
Shin: "Sorry, sorry. I'm interested in folk tales these days that all books I read are about them."
Touma: "Are you really studying for the (National College) Examination?"
Shin: "I am just taking some rest from time to time....Do you want another cup of coffee?"
