A while ago, I was doing some research on the release dates for the OAV's.
On a couple Japanese sites, I came across this date:
March 17th, 1990
Both sites seemed to indicate that it was the "theatrical" release date. Also, there is a small "booklet", the cover of which features the image 5 Troopers, Mukara, and Shiro Kikoutei standing before the solor eclipse. Inside the booklet, on the back page is the same date (03-17-1990). I'm guessing this was some kind of program guide that was available for purchase at the theater, for about 500 yen.
Any idea if Kikoutei Densetsu was ever shown in Japanese theaters?
