Posted by Boggy I'm inclined to "classify" Seiji's parents as choleric and phlegmatic (polar opposites in personality), in that Seiji's mother is aggressive, strong-willed, and ambitious (perhaps bossy/forceful, even), while Seiji's father is passive, reserved, and laid-back (perhaps more emotional). Then, of course, he could be either melancholy and/or sanguine (both "weaker" temperaments than the choleric), in that melancholy is typically creative but easily depressed/dependent, and sanguine is fun-loving/optimistic, but irresponsible/unreliable (this is, of course, in terms of the "Four Temperaments," which may or may not have anything to do with the implied meaning of "weak"). But then there is another interpretation of Seiji's father as submissive/subservient (i.e. "weak-willed"). I'm apt to believe the former, in that Seiji's father is simply "relaxed" (i.e. less formal)--as he has the "adaptability of someone who lives in a modern society"--as opposed to lacking conviction and/or inner strength. Just looking for a bit of clarification.

In Seiji's bio (written in Nina's FAQ), it mentions Seiji's father having a "weak" personality--or at least, a weaker personality than his wife. It's an ambiguous statement (i.e. to me), and I've often wondered what EXACTLY is meant and/or interpreted as "weak" (i.e. in terms of a traditional Japanese family, or just generally speaking).
