In "Backworldsmen" Z hopes that they become convalescents and overcomers and create higher bodies. But in "The Despisers of the Body" Z hopes they just get out of the way and die. I like to imagine that the despisers of the body are any-and-all who value the soul/mind/spirit above the body. In "Prologue 3" despisers are anyone who "speaks of superearthly hopes", or rates "the heart of the unknowable higher than the meaning of the earth".
In "Backworldsmen", the construction of superearthly hopes are the symptoms of suffering and impotence. This is a condition of the body despairing of the body and the earth. They are the sick and perishing.
