N's service in the Franco Prussian War

I am in desperate need of any information regarding N's time as a medical orderly during the Franco Prussian War.
So far all I know is that he was enlisted from Aug. of 1870 to Oct. of the same year, that he ended up stranded for three days with six wounded men in an abandoned train car and no supplies. This is famously where he contracted dysentery and diptheria, ( and some argue syphyllis). I would like to know specifically at which battle did this take place (Woerth?)
Any details or resources anyone can point me towards would be greatly appreciated.
