:1. Will to Power and the Principalities
After seeing the synopsis of the discussion, it is the time then therefore to realize their similarities and dissimilarities of how the will to power of Nietzsche create the world of the Ubermensch, and how the Principalities of Machiavelli became the kingdom of the Prince and represent as his ultimate power.
Nietzsche’s will to power is not merely a state or Dominion but a state of living itself. The will to power is defined by so many things including his notion of Apollo and Dionysus, where life itself is hence will to power though the respective representation of arts, and other energies of life. Hence will to power here is seen directly as merely as representation of life and that it is the will to power. Like Apollo who represents dreams, images and others that in reality it is express in painting poetry and others, and it brings an individuation of things. On the other hand like Dionysus who represents chaos and energies that hinders any form and principles of life. Hence their fusion is that manifests the picture of will to power as to affirm life in the fullest and to overcome one self. Or will to power is seen in the master and slave morality where masters have this power to create and that they have the drive to aim for another sphere of life to be superior not merely on the herd but above aristocrats and to become the ideal creature of Nietzsche which is the Superman. In the same way the masters are not the only one who has the will to power but also the herd they have this will and demand to become master and aim for ubermenschen. There is however meanness of dominance over another. This is however entails freedom in which man has ‘will’ and nothing but will to power. Hence the main assertion of will to power is the will to create and the drive to create.
Regarding the principality of Machiavelli, this is the State or dominion which is the sign of power for the prince through the acquisition of the monarchy. Over and above the way prince acquire principalities is the quantum of his power. Thus he willed it on his own or he acquired it to some other way such as by blood or by succession. Hence power itself is not only willed by a prince but also by other people. Hence this is the quantum of power that they have to choose one among them to become a prince thus power itself is present in acquiring principality.
Their similarity then is that they both represent power and as a means for power will to power and principalities gave more exact in giving the definition of power. That is will to power is power itself you have the demand and the freedom in you. However principality is limited however acquiring it is a sign of power that you have the state and a prince is ruling in it. However, power will never be attain without the will to power and the principality. Moreover to construe this two will to power can be a means in order to gain principality and to rule like a prince and the overman over humanity.
