I finally got this link to work! Here's Sean & I's earthquake story..
we made out ok! Sean was in Los Angeles when it happened! How ironic is that? I was at work when it hit...I was on the phone with Northwest Airlines and the building felt like it was a boat. My boss was yelling everyone get in the doorways
so I said "I've got to go, we're having an earthquake" and hung up. We stood in the middle of the building under the door jams and the earthquake just kept on going...one lady was screaming, another crying. There wasn't any loud bang, just the rolling motion as if we were on a big boat. We didn't have any damage at my office other than stuff falling off shelves. The phones systems are still overloaded so we've had a time getting calls in or out. It was very scary! It really brings home how fragile and special life is! When I got home, Sean's CD collection was spread out all over the floor, having toppled off a shelf, but other than few things knocked over and cupboards and drawers open, we were very blessed! Mostly older buildings were damaged. Some roads were closed, some power was knocked out, and poor phone service, but nothing as catastrophic as you would expect with an earthquake that size.
