Be VERY careful with this 'straw buyers' stuff. The term is a red flag for anyone looking for people attempting mortgage fraud. A 'straw buyer' is not a real purchaser, but someone posing as one. A phony (straw) buyer is someone who does not intend to and will not be making payments - and that constitutes mortgage fraud, first class. Which, by the way, carries some serious penalties these days (try 20 years), not the little hand slaps of yore.
