Here are some tips that I used to make my Avonex injections more tolerable: Like I mentioned before, I stopped the Avonex after about a year. Give it some time to see if your body adjusts to it. If not, you may want to consider one of the subcutaneous medications. Good luck. Brian

1. Take your syringe out of the refrigerator the night before so it warms to room temperature by the time you inject.
2. Premedicate with advil, motrin or tylenol about 45 minutes prior to injecting. This didn't prevent the symptoms for me, just made them milder. Tylenol 8 hour worked best.
3. Prep the injection site with heat about 30 minutes prior to injecting. This will help with the soreness.
