I had to do the IV steroids and i hated it. IT leaves a horrible taste in your mouth. Made my eyes feel like i had a film on them and made my vision fuzzy as well as making my face turn red. I learned that sucking on some strong sugar free mints really helped. I say sugar free because some people tend to have blood sugar problems while on the IV so avoid any excess sugar. The eye goopiness to my knowledge there is no way around that or the red face. Although on the up side i had more energy, was able to clean my house again and my vision cleared up. 
Its not all that bad though.
