Having a cold or the flu can make symptoms worse or trigger a relapse. This happened to me even while I was on Avonex for treatment. I was told that this is common because in having MS, a person's immune system is already working hard attacking the CNS, that when an actual virus or other natural immune system enemy is identified by the body, the immune system kicks into higher gear and is more agressive toward the "intruders", virus and CNS included. The symptoms I experienced lasted about a week or two after the cold/flu was gone. Hope you feel better!
