just a reminder as the spring weather season moves in, you may notice times with there is reduced range heard from the scanner or it just seems not to receive as much. This is just because when storms move into the local area I try to switch from the outside scanner antenna to a inside antenna (and ground the antenna lead) to avoid damage to the equipment. As soon as the the lighting has passed the outside antenna is connected again.
The really is positive as it allows a more local focus during storms.
