Political correctness has taken over our country. These days it's not PC to have armed security guards in banks, schools, hospitals or malls. What, exactly, is an unarmed security officer expected to do during a crime? The mall in Omaha, Neb., where the latest massacre occurred, forbids citizens with concealed-carry permits to have their weapons on them while in the mall. Like that is going to make a difference to a criminal. Criminals carry them there anyway.
Nearly every time one of these massacres occurs it's in one of the "gun-free" zones where legally armed citizens are not permitted to have weapons. Had Simon Corp., the mall's owner, not worried so much about trained, armed citizens in its mall, tragedies such as this would not have happened, or at least could have been lessened.
Let's start placing blame where it really belongs -- on criminal behavior and political correctness. I am appalled by the lack of common sense in today's lawmakers. They do nothing to stop crime and only make it more difficult for citizens to protect themselves.
