When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was taken to Nebraska Medical Center, where he died. ----------------------------------- An Elkhorn man has been arrested for approaching a teenage girl at a Lincoln school last month. Lincoln Police arrested 25-year-old Jacob Butolph August 30th at Northeast High School. Police say he approached a 15-year-old student and asked her if she was interested in becoming a model. He told then asked her if she wanted to get into the van he was driving to look at some paperwork. The student had a friend with her and she led her away from the van. Police say Butolph was developed as a suspect because his description was similar to other incidents Lincoln Police and UNL Police had in the past. In those cases he had longer conversations with young women and tried to convince them to model for a lot of money and short period of time. He also told the women he would film them for reality video tapes. ---------------------------------- Omaha, NE- Omaha Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred at the home of Warren Buffett. Police were called to Buffett's home around 10:15pm Wednesday night. Police say someone rang the doorbell of the home around 10pm. Warren's wife, Astrid Buffett and a security guard were walking to the door when the guard found a man on the front porch. The man displayed what was thought to be a gun and then the security guard struggled with the suspect. During the scuffle the suspect hit the guard on the head with an object. --------------------------------- Authorities are looking into two unrelated attacks on women that have some disturbing similarities. Both victims were grabbed off the street. Investigators say it's a bizarre coincidence but the two crimes were committed just hours apart this past Sunday. One woman was walking and the other was running down the street. Each was grabbed off the street. One was sexually assaulted. The other was the victim of an attempted sexual assault. ------------------------------- Council Bluffs police officers attempted to stop a man from throwing rocks at passing cars Sunday night and arrested him for assaulting a police officer. Brian Rieper, 23, of Council Bluffs was seen throwing rocks at moving vehicles in the 1300 block of 16th Avenue, and a victim called the police at around 10 p.m., according to the report. Officers located Rieper with a rock in his hand on 15th Avenue and attempted to talk to him. Rieper allegedly ran into a residence at 1615 15th Ave. and refused to speak to police. Rieper was physically removed from the residence and allegedly struggled with authorities, receiving three shocks from a TASER. He was treated by Council Bluffs medics on scene for injuries received from the TASER.
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late last night in northeast Omaha.
