Police responded to the apartment building near 34th and Jackson this morning after a woman showed up at police headquarters to report a robbery and home invasion. While searching the grounds, police discovered an explosive device outside the building. The apartments were evacuated while the bomb squad detonated the device. No one was injured. --------------------------------- OMAHA — Authorities have released the name of an Omaha man who died after being shot. Creighton Greene, 35, was found late Tuesday night by Omaha officers responding to a report of gunshots in northeast Omaha. Greene was taken to Nebraska Medical Center, where he died. ------------------------------ OMAHA, Neb. -- A man accused of firing a gun at a federal marshal's van told KETV NewsWatch 7 that he was high and he didn't pull the trigger. Benjamin Manley said he was wanted on drug-related charges and had been running from police since February. On Friday, the Fugitive Task Force got a tip that led them to Quik Trip at Northwest Radial Highway at Hamilton Street. Manley said he had been up for six days straight, high on methamphetamine, and that's why he ran. A man was fatally shot just before 11 p.m. Tuesday near 33rd Street and Laurel Avenue, police said.It is the third shooting in four days in Omaha.Officers said they found a male victim... ----------------------------------
(Omaha, NE) -- The third shooting of the week claimed the life of an Omaha man last night. Just before 11:00, police responded to a home near 33rd Street and Laurel Avenue where they found 35-year-old Creighton Greene suffering from a gunshot wound. Greene was transported to Nebraska Medical Center where he later died. Police are still investigating the murders of 33-year-old Ray Webb and 35-year-old Antonio Simonds who were both gunned down over the weekend. Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to contact the police.
