Witnesses told officers that the occupants of a maroon vehicle discharged a firearm striking an 11-year old Omaha boy. Whitney Hayes, 19, of Omaha, told police she was standing outside near 27th Street and Camden Avenue and was shot. She was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. Meanwhile, a drive-by shooting is said to be the blame for a man injured in the area of 33rd and Fowler streets around 12:10 a.m. Saturday. David James, 19, of Glenwood, Iowa, told police he was standing outside when a white vehicle drove by. Someone inside the vehicle fired a gun multiple times, injuring James. Officers were called to the Nebraska Medical Center shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday to talk to a patient who had an apparent gunshot wound. Henry Alvarez, 25, of Omaha, told police he was walking in the area of 34th and L streets when he heard multiple gunshots, at which time he realized that he had been injured. --------------------------------- A 20 year old Omaha man is under arrest in connection with a savage beating first reported July 16th. Paul Miller is accused of beating 65 year old James Clark also of Omaha who was found stuffed in the trunk of his car at 6120 Military Avenue ------------------------------------
OMAHA, Neb. -- Three people were injured in separate shootings in Omaha over the weekend.
About a half hour later, officers went to Immanuel Hospital where they found there was a second victim in the shooting.
