Police say he is expected to survive. Witnesses told police the shot came from a light-colored, four-door car. Officers noticed a vehicle matching the description traveling south on 29th Street. The Jeep parked in front of a resident and its four occupants got out. COUNCIL BLUFFS — A door-to-door salesman was taken to the hospital this morning after being stabbed at a Bluffs motel. The incident took place just after 9:30 a.m. at the American Inn, 2717 S. 24th St. The man, whose identity was not released, was taken to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, said Bluffs police Sgt. Ray Mabbitt. The man's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. Mabbitt said police still were investigating, though it appeared the salesman, who was staying at the motel, got into an argument with another salesperson. -----------------------------
