Jeremy and Andrea Stork are facing charges of storing explosives and possession of a destructive device. Officials from the state Fire Marshal's Office and the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms conducted a search of their home near 180th and "F" around 5 a.m. They found a large cache of homemade bombs, bomb-making materials, machine guns and other illegal weapons, and about 16-hundred pounds of commercial fireworks. Police were alerted to the stash of explosives when a truck containing hazardous materials was pulled over shortly after making a delivery at the Stork residence. --------------------------------- (Omaha, NE) -- An Omaha man is recovering after being shot during a robbery attempt overnight. The 35-year-old man tells officers he was standing outside his home near 33rd and Weber when he was approached by three men who demanded money. The victim ran inside and barricaded himself inside his home, but was struck by a bullet when one of the men shot through the door. --------------------------------- (Omaha, NE) -- Omaha police blocked off Pinkney Street for several hours this morning, searching for clues to a double homicide. Around 1:30 this morning, police were called out on a report of gunfire near 25th and Pinkney. Officers arrived to find a man and woman in their 20s shot to death inside a 2001 Ford Focus. ------------------------------ A 22-year-old robbery suspect is in custody and an Omaha police officer is on administrative leave following an officer-involved shooting early Saturday morning in northwest Omaha. ------------------------------ Bond has been set at more than $100,000 for a Red Oak, Iowa woman accused of two counts of attempted murder. Authorities say 24-year-old Audrey Gilleland set fire to the family's garage while her husband and 14-month-old daughter were sleeping inside. That was on May 26th. Since then, Gilleland has been charged with the two counts of attempted murder, arson and child endangerment.
(Ashland, NE) -- The man accused of shooting a volunteer firefighter Wednesday is now in jail awaiting charges. Fifty-eight-year-old Stanley Bjorkman was released from the hospital yesterday after suffering a gunshot wound to the stomach he received during a standoff with police. Bjorkman held authorities at bay for around two hours Wednesday evening after an argument with firefighters that were called to put out a fire that he had set. The fireman injured during the confrontation was treated and released from the hospital later that night.
