Lofton was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later died. The shooting happened outside the Hamilton Outlet Tobacco store. The owner of the store told Channel 6 that a male teenager and his mother where in the store and left. Minutes later the mother ran back inside saying her son had been shot. The owner called 911. It will be up to the county attorney to determine if the suspect in Lofton's shooting will be charged as an adult. The suspect remained in custody Friday night.
Police have booked a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of criminal homicide in the shooting death of Aaron Lofton. The 18-year-old Lofton was shot to death Friday afternoon near 41st and Hamilton.
