According to officers, police were attempting to control a female when another attempted to punch one officer and kicked another multiple times. ------------------------------------ Omaha police were called to Immanuel Hospital early Saturday morning regarding a shooting victim. Jacolby Davis, 21, told officers he was walking to his vehicle near 42nd Street and Redman Avenue around 3 a.m. when a group of males approached him. The suspect, who was in the group, discharged a gun and the victim was struck by a bullet. Davis was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. ---------------------------------- Omaha Police are investigating what they are calling a multiple-fatality shooting. They have not said how many people were killed. One person was transported to the hospital in critical condition but later died. The Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting that happened near 124th and Westwood Lane. That's just southwest of 120th and West Center Road. --------------------------------------- Twenty-four-year-old Kaine Dye is in custody on burglary and theft charges but the case appears linked to the death of a Council Bluffs man. Dye turned himself in Saturday as investigators were trying to figure out what happened on Friday night. Police were called to a Council Bluffs apartment complex Friday night where they found the door of apartment 5 breached. It had apparently been kicked in. Inside the apartment, investigators found evidence that pointed to more than a burglary. Council Bluffs Police Sergeant Jerry Mann says, "They found some suspicious things and called for the detective bureau. We went down and the investigation kind of snowballed from there." Neighbors say they had heard a struggle earlier that day. The tenant of apartment five was missing and so was his truck. Sgt. Mann says, "This same vehicle that we were going to be putting information out about was being pursued at the time by the Harrison County Sheriff's department." Deputies lost track of the truck in an off-road chase through Harrison County. The vehicle was located hours later. It had been abandoned in a rural area and a body was found nearby. Kaine Dye, who lived across the hall from where the break-in happened, surrendered Saturday morning and is charged with burglary and theft of a vehicle. The death investigation continues and as of Saturday night, there still had not been a positive identification of the victim.
