Police say they arrived at the home near 70th and Mayfield and found a woman assaulting her husband. While they were there, officers noticed the house was on fire. Firefighters were called in and put out the blaze. Authorities say the basement of the home was gutted. Police say mace had to be used on the woman to subdue her. She was taken into custody. The family's dog was also found dead inside the home. ------------------------------ Beginning January 2, 2007, Nebraska residents wishing to apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit will be able to do so. Applicants who have completed an approved Handgun Training & Safety Course, and completed a Concealed Handgun Permit Application, can present the application and necessary documentation in person during normal business hours to the Criminal Identification Division (CID) Office in Lincoln or any Troop Area Headquarters outside of Lincoln. Permit applicants can expect to receive their permit in the mail in approximately 10 days to two weeks. -------------------------------
Police have arrested a suspect in the stabbing of 26-year-old Lori Stone. Ms. Stone flagged down police at 24th and Lake saying she'd been stabbed.
