Nebraska lawmakers avoided repealing local bans when they passed the state law earlier this year. Kearney's ban covers guns, brass knuckles, knives and other weapons. The city is adding signs at the city's entrances to remind citizens and visitors of the ban.
OMAHA, Neb. -- Carrying a concealed weapon will still be illegal in Kearney, even with a new state law taking effect January First.
