The student involved in last week's incident, 17-year-old Robert Michael Brannon, suffered an injured finger and thigh when the gun fired. He faces charges of possessing a stolen gun and destruction of property. ------------------------------------- Omaha, NE- Despite another spike in shootings, rising gang numbers, and gang crime, Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey continues to stand by his police chief. Mayor Fahey and Police Chief Tom Warren spent Friday morning urging anyone who knows anything about the recent rash of shootings to come forward. At the same time, new numbers indicate that Omaha's gang problem is not going away any time soon. Right now there are more than 3,200 known gang members in Omaha. That is up 15 percent in the last year. Gang related drug crimes are up 146 percent. ------------------------------------- OMAHA, Neb. -- Omaha police said they are looking for two robbery suspects who fired a shot inside a popular Omaha restaurant on Thursday night. According to investigators, the pair tried to rob the Sgt. Pfeffer's pizza place on Saddle Creek Road just before 9:30 p.m. but the employees couldn't get the register opened. ------------------------------------
Omaha, NE- An Omaha teen is dead after being shot in North Omaha. Police say 15-year-old Rodney Orr was found near 29th and Parker. Orr was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center. He died this morning from his injuries. Orr was a sophomore at Yates alternative school in Omaha. No one has been arrested but police are looking for a purple car with in transit stickers that might be linked to the shooting.
