Posted by Sue Foltin, Senator #63744 Brian Klinge - work-related accident I will forward information as it becomes available. 1. They'll have to work harder than this to impeach me. 3. (And to the resident who came to check on him) Can I have a Natural Light? I've attached the link to an article that appeared in tonight's Ann Arbor News regarding BK's accident (front page news of Section B). Visitations 1:00 p.m Tuesday June 22, 2004

Dear Fellow MI JCI Senators,
This has been a rough week for many of our fellow members. Please see the following information for:
Doug Hinckner - colon surgery
Brad Smith - IN JCI Senator who past away
*************************** BRIAN KLINGE #60500, 32nd President MI JCI Senate
On Wednesday morning of this week, BK had a work-related accident, falling 26 feet to the pavement. He was rushed to the UofM and has been in ICU. He suffered 2 cracked vertebrae, broken ribs, a fractured right collar bone and a fractured right hip. He is currently in Surgical ICU and is scheduled to have surgery on his hip tomorrow morning (Friday) at 7:30PM.
I stopped by the hospital tonight to check on both BK and Wendy. They are an excellent spirits and BK looks fantastic, all things considering (just a few scraps and bruises). BK's spinal films were clear and there is no sign of paralysis. He does have a halo screwed to his head that he will have to wear for at least 3 months, which I believe is as long as he will have to stay off his leg. When asked if he wanted to share any thoughts or feelings, he expressed:
2. The doctors said I should be able to make the July meeting.

*************************** DOUG HINCKNER #22200
Doug had surgery on Wednesday as well. Jack Ryan was kind enough to provide the following information:
Jack Ryan: Talked to Doug today. He's doing fine for what he is. They took out the rest of his colon and "hooked up" direct to the lower intestine. I was able to make him laugh hard ( and hurt a lot ) so it was a successful call. His phone # is 734-712-4758 ... direct to his room. Room #5045. He'll be in for 5-6 days.
