Last nights game might have been last game with two quality teams playing each other. Both HC and HS have been representing Hamilton well in past few years, but this might be last year that we had good teams for a while.
Croatia will need to find replacements for Zupan, Bilic, Saulez, Cory as they are getting older. Some are saying Shannon, Saulez, Cory, Brala will be leaving to play with Croatian team in Oakville. Ron Davidson might be leaving as some older management guys are not happy with number of Croats on the pitch. Guys like Dodds, Jirta, Legget will stay as long as their 'incentives' are there.
Serbians are also getting older. Paige, Cavic, Zoran, Igor are not getting any younger. Rumors are that imports are not coming back. Alsn rumor is that HS are thinking of going down to H&D and rebuilding.
Both teams' young guys are not ready to play at the level the teams are playing now.
Sparta has potential to be the top dog in years to come. Younger team than two mentioned, need few experienced and quality players to make that jump.
I hope I am wrong, but something tells me that if we are lucky next season will be the last one with good Hamilton teams representing. But it is possible that 2009 might be the last one.
