Folks -

Let's hold down the retoric a bit. Ron and the guys who keep this thing going work their asses off and have... GASP!! ...REAL JOBS TO SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES. TMCCC is important to all of us who are on the board, but we do have other things going on in our lives.

The economic realities of today make it difficult for us to get out to Abeline. I, like Dan, really like the facility - but it is not one that draws racers, and there is a financial consideration to all of this, in so far that the TMCCC needs to at least break even or it won't continue.

The folks at Redline have historically been less than welcoming and while scheduling the 2008 season they all but told us they didn't want us back that year. That, combined with the number of complaints we all get about that facility from our club members, made it an easy scratch for last year. We didn't approach them for 2009, maybe if the economy gets tighter, they'll come looking to us for a race.

I think we'd all like to run at Crandall, but until they get real about what they want from us to run our race out there, I wouldn't expect to see us get out there. Hopefully, they will realize that the market doesn't support what their current busines model seems to be and they'll change.

As of the last committee meeting, Ron was going to try and work some sence into the fine folks at Crandall. Failing that, I think our plan is to get a third race at one of the other tracks.

I'm sorry if anyone felt they weren't getting the attention they deserved.
