Maybe you shouldn't be painting it.... I think the fumes have gotten to you already.....
318 Poly...... early small block with polysherical combustion chamber..... canted valves sorta like a BB Chebbie (I am sure you are familiar with those). It was classified as the "A" engine, the BB was the "B" engine. They later on went to a lighter method of casting the block and designated it "LA" for Light A motor..... and then the "B" got made into a bigger motor, hense the "RB" designation.
I guess "B" stood for "BIG" and "RB" stood for "REALLY BIG"......
Actually it stands for raised block.... it had a taller deck. Sort of like a 366/427 Chebbie truck block.
Now..... you wanna discuss the /6 motor?
