TM, I agree that I could use practice (allot of it), but I believe that the Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge should be for, well, muscle cars to race against each other. I like to watch race cars race too, but this isn't called the "Texas RACE Car Club Challenge". Race cars can race any weekend against other race cars, let the muscle cars have their 8 or so races a year, and leave the transbrake,4 linked, etc. race cars (along with the 19 second diesel trucks, CRAIG) at home. It seems as though we are catering to the race cars by adding classes to accomodate them, and forgetting the real reason this series was started... for muscle cars to race. I will continue to race in the TMCCC with my old 4 speed, but at least it will be in my muscle car, which is what the TMCCC was set up for. I think Craig "gets it"...and he runs a slushbox vehicle most of the time.
: If you look at the cars in the faster classes
: they are not you typical daily driven street
: muscle cars. Most of them are race cars and
: not intended for street use.
: If you want a stick only class why not try
: racing stock class in the NHRA? Sounds like
: a few guys moaning because they can not be
: competitive with a stick car. I race against
: a lot of stick cars that are consistent. Try
: going out and making tuning runs when not
: racing to get better with your shifting. Of
: course I do not know why the trans brake
: cars were given their own class. I really
: see no advantage in having just a trans
: brake in the car. Then the line lock thing
: is mainly for burn outs. Want to be more
: competitive with a stick? One
: word.....PRACTICE!
