I was really hoping to see a stick tranny class take off. It makes sense to me that in a race that's supposed to be based on muscle cars, and consistancy, to keep all the cars on an even playing field. I think most people will agree that a stick car with an average driver is never as consistant as an average driver in an slushbox car. I guess I could tear out my 4 speed and put an auto tranny with a transbrake, and add a line lock just like all the old muscle cars came from the factory with (hahahaha)

: Well, obviously there isn't alot of talk about
: this subject, but I'll stir the pot. I'm
: starting to become a bit critical of
: "MUSCLECAR" racing that has room
: for 19 sec. diesel trucks, and are working
: towards classes with and without line locks
: and trans brakes and yet, no mention of
: "real manual transmission"
: classes. Am I living in the past of what a
: "musclecar" is/was?
:
: And to quote someone who mentioned this to
: me, but didn't want to be identified...
:
: "I'm not sure about this, but it
: seems to me that Detroit produced a few
: more MUSCLECARS with stick trannys than they
: produced with transbrakes,
: stutter boxes, or even line locks, and yet
: the Texas MUSCLE CAR Club
: Challenge sees fit to make classes for them
: and ignore true MUSCLECARS that
: were produced by the thousands with stick
: trannys."
: And don't post this under my name if you
: get the wild hair..."
