Frozen Amaretto Torte
1/2 cup Chocolate wafer cookie crumbs (about 40 wafers)
1/3 cup Slivered almonds, toasted and chopped
6 oz Margarine or butter, melted
14 oz Package butterscotch flavored chips
16 oz Can EagleŽ Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT EVAPORATED MILK)
1/3 cup Container BordenŽ or Meadow GoldŽ Sour Cream
1 cup Amaretto or other almond flavored liqueur
BordenŽ or Meadow GoldŽ Whipping Cream, whipped
This impressive, yet easy-to-make, torte is the perfect choice for a dessert
party. Combine crumbs, almonds and margarine. Reserving 1 1/2 cups crumb
mixture, press remainder firmly on bottom of 9-inch springform pan. In small
saucepan, over medium heat, melt chips with sweetened condensed milk. In
large bowl, combine sour cream and amaretto; stir in butterscotch mixture.
.Fold in whipped cream. Pour half the amaretto mixture over prepared crust;
top with 1 cup reserved crumb mixture; cover. Freeze 6 hours or until firm.
Just before serving, remove side of pan. Garnish as desired. Freeze
leftovers.
