Measuring Shortening 
To get shortening out of a measuring cup without a messy cup to
clean up
afterwards. Use a silver measuring cup - fill it with shortening and
stick
a spoon in the center of the shortening. Tip the measuring cup
sideways
and run the cup under hot water until the spoon can turn and pull the
shortening out! NO MESS!!
