Yes, I would say all the games are important, we want to secure the best chance for as many potential home ties in the playoffs as we can. |
Get to 5th and get a home tie.
If we get through that we'll be away, almost certain to be Harrogate/Salford/Brackley. Of these allocation is likely to be derisory. I'd guess the best may be at Brackley possibly? SLightly smaller capacity but much smaller town and considerably fewer bandwagon-jumpers (just look at their respective attendances) and the worst possibly Salford as we'll doubtless get the derisory 800 or so they gave earlier in the season.
Then if we got to the final, just hope that it ends up being against the winners of the Kidderminster (assume they end up 4th) v 7th place match. As we'd either be at home, or away at a ground that could probably cope with a decent following.
All "ifs" and "ands" at the moment.
But the Darlington match definitely won't be meaningless, we need to end on good form and hopefully confirm 5th place. If nothing else, the one match of the playoffs that is midweek is the first one - would prefer to be at home for that one.
We will not run,
And we will not hide,
No we will not give up,
We will survive!
