We're a few games in to a new season and the end is nigh? It was the same last season, a few defeats and we're doomed. As I said last year, I believe that Chally is still a good manager and he'll get things right.
Today we were decent for an hour. We should have been 2 or even 3 goals up. Barry is good but a bit of a headless chicken which is understandable at his age. Tonto is a bit like that too at times. Why we suddenly decided to park the bus after n hour today God only knows but it was like the Alamo for a period with only Big Ben standing up to the onslaught which is disappointing to say the least. Then when Paddy and Collar were withdrawn and replaced with Rydel and Evans we were far worse. A knackered Paddy will still do the work of both those two put together which is a sad indictment.
It was nice to see Wright and Horsfall in the centre even if both had their indifferent moments. Pye isn't good enough; he may be at some stage but this is not his time. Knoyle and Touray are better wing halves even if they weren't great today. Croasdale was solid as usual and Paddy and Collar were pulling the strings in midfield for a while.
Judging by the reaction you'd have thought we'd lost 7-0 today.....not 3-2 against a decent side away from home.
One thing I will agree with is that the recruitment has been poor. Powell at £8k a week for 3 years?? Jesus wept! We've been unlucky with injuries but we've also recruited injury prone players so what's to be expected?
Players need to go. Pye out on loan for another season. Evans out. MSH spends more time in the injury room than anywhere near the pitch. There are others I think that may be shipped out as we see a one week mini-revolution.
Chally deserves our support for all he's done and I'm convinced he'll be given it by MS. It was the same last season and so it will be this.
