The strategy of closing a stand down works adequately when you are in say the Northern Premier league and balancing the costs against the limited number of supporters.

It saves a little bit a money granted, and if we had a bean counter in charge with his or her blinkers on they would force that on us, but thankfully we are not in that position.

If you have to manage and steward nine thousand supporters at EP I would suggest that it is lunacy to cram them into three sides of the ground whilst at the same time leaving the Railway End empty. With supporters spread out a little more with a similar number of stewards then the atmosphere would be far better for both the supporters and the players.

I can’t think that any of our players enjoy playing in front of an empty Railway End.
Think also of the financial opportunities that we are missing.

There have been times over the years when I have brought all the family down to EP. Not every match but on Birthdays, Christmas etc Not much chance of that at the moment when you look at booking on-line with single seats scattered around the ground. Spread the supporters out a bit more and there might be a few blocks available where six, eight or more might be able to sit together.
