Stockport County Supporters Cooperative Newsletter- 23 September 2022 The Week Ahead .. A significant week awaits us, and the Supporters Cooperative has been busy setting it up. Firstly, on Thursday 29 September we are pleased to invite you to our Meet the Sculptor Evening. We are delighted to confirm that Hannah Stewart the sculptor who won the commission to produce the Danny Bergara Statue will be in town to meet you.  The event in the Hardcastle Suite at Edgeley Park is free to enter (Doors 7pm for 7.30) and Hannah will give a presentation of her work and an update on progress on the statue to date. You will be able to ask Hannah questions, and we will have a raffle on the night with some good prizes with a view to boosting the statue appeal. Bucket Collection- 1 October ( County v Walsall) The Club have granted permission for Help the Hatters and ourselves to hold a bucket collection at the Walsall match on Saturday October 1, in support of the statue appeal, and with your support that day we will get within reasonable striking distance of our target. ...................... Looking Back to Last Week . We were dismayed to witness the appalling conduct of a noisy minority of those present in the upper tiers of the Cheadle End during the match with Harrogate Town. With the team needing support, those individuals chose to revert to times best forgotten with a series of lamentable sectarian chants. In this respect we commend the Club for the prompt statement they issued in response- this was spot on, as was the widespread condemnation of the sectarian abuse from the thoughtful majority of County supporters on message boards and social media generally which mirrored the Supporters Cooperative view and signalled loudly that there is a will to ensure this obnoxious behaviour does not prevail! ..
