    Wrexham fans sick in the stomach + match comments Archived Message

    Once again the Wrexham fans were on a high after their deserved three nil win against us last Sunday , huge euphoria and excitement all around the town of Wrexham in the schools , hotels , offices , shops . They have now come crashing down with that nausea feeling of a squirming ache in the stomach following our one nil win tonight .

    What pleased me so much about this County performance was the tempo they played at , non stop 100 mph football , putting Torquay under constant pressure . Ok we had a wobble in the final minute but apart from that Torquays game plan was to keep the score down , their goalkeeper had a superb game , really without sounding too pompous , we could have won three nil quite easily .

    This was the kind of performance we were putting in during our great run earlier in the season , everyone put a shift in , it was great to see Collar back , our midfield was buzzing all night .

    The second half County got at the back of the Torquay defence and put a lot of low crosses in , rather than in the first half when the crosses were often too high and the Torquay bean poles won everything in the air .

    So , we have Halifax Town at home , they are better than Torquay and must not be underestimated , they are third for a reason and have a proven goalscorer in MW . Wrexham fans think they will just win at Dagenham three or four nil , maybe , but it’s a tougher match than they realise and Dagenham and Redbridge are no fools , can score goals and have a playoff spot to chase if wobbling Chesterfield slip up again .

    If we play with that same tempo and go for the win , then that is the best way to approach this game and not just play for a draw . The crowd will play their part as they did tonight , the atmosphere at Edgeley was electric and I hope the Wrexham
    fans who attended also enjoyed a very entertaining game .
